Gisele Bundchen is catching unrelenting flack for mouthing off against her husband’s Tom Brady’s team, the NFL New England Patriots while Extra correspondent Maria Menounos was forced to strip down to a Giants bikini!
After the Patriots Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants, 21 to 17, on Sunday the Brazilian supermodel hurled an evident jab at Brady’s fellow teammates, after the Patriots potential win was squandered by the team’s incapability to catch the ball—as viewed by Gisele.
“My husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times,” said Gisele. “You have to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball.”
While no one seems to take issue with the highest paid supermodel’s safeguarding her husband’s pain for the team’s loss, the contention has materialized because the misguided, off-handed remarks were made in public.
According to sources, Tom’s teammates felt betrayed by his wife. The team sees their organization as a brotherhood and pegs Gisele’s comments as accusatory which places blame on an individual, going against their all-for-one and one-for-all stance. “It’s like knocking someone when they are down,” the source said.
Gisele’s antagonistic words were certainly for Aaron Hernandez and Wes Welker who in different scenarios failed to hold on to the ball thrown by Brady which could have been game changers for the team.
Patriot fans are upset about their team’s loss, but more upset that Gisele neglected the team code: win as a team, or lose as a team. To further fuel to the flame Bundchen saw no wrong doing in her husband’s game, “You played the best game of your life … you were amazing,” whispered Gisele to Tom after the game.
“She doesn’t understand that, in a team dynamic, even if you’re the star it’s not all about you. You win as a team and lose as a team,” one blogger wrote.
And while one fan wrote, ““Maybe she is the reason he hasn’t won a Super Bowl since hooking up with her,” the Patriots spokesperson is staying out of the fray by remaining mum on the model’s mumblings.
But we think the Patriots defensive back summed it up nicely: “You can’t point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season,” he said. “You win it as a team; you win it and lose it as a team. And we lost to a good football team.”
One bad game shouldn’t discount any player’s reputation, besides the team made it to the Super Bowl, just as that—a team.
A.J. Calloway Wins Bet Against Maria Menounos
Extra correspondent, Maria Menounos braved a cold morning in New York City where she unveiled a Giants bikini. Menounos, 33, who’s from Massachusetts, lost against her co-host AJ Calloway who was rooting for the eventual winner, the Giants. If A.J. lost he would wear a Patriots cheerleader outfit.
Maria kept her end of bargain and stripped down to the delight of Mario Lopez and many other onlookers. A.J. stated with glee,
“God is a Giants fan!” Lopez tweeted, “My girl @mariamenounos lost a Super Bowl bet & had to wear a NY Giants bikini! Big props..Look great.”
Well we’re glad Maria lost, Calloway in a cheerleaders outfit would be hard to fathom.
