Actress Tiffany Haddish and the two alleged victims who accused her and fellow comedian Aries Spears of child abuse, have agreed to seal the original complaint. This comes days after Jane Doe revealed plans to settle if the “Night School” star denounced claims from her lawyer that they resurfaced the allegations as part of a “shakedown” attempt.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the 42-year-old Hollywood star and Jane and her brother, known simply as John Doe, discussed and handled the matter privately.
The outlet reported that Haddish moved the case from state court to federal court, where officials had temporarily sealed the complaint because it contained several photographs of a John — still a minor — in an undressed state.
The judge reportedly told Haddish and the accusers to inform the court on whether they wanted the documents sealed or made public, to which they agreed on the former to protect John’s identity. “The full public availability of the Complaint could permit public identification of Plaintiff John Doe and, by association, Plaintiff Jane Doe,” the filing read.
Haddish and Spears were hit with a 30-page suit filed last month in Los Angeles Superior Court for allegedly forcing the siblings to participate in sexually suggestive acts while filming a skit titled “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes.”
Jane alleged Haddish, who was close friends with her mother, picked her up, drove her to a Hollywood studio, and had her reenact a scene where she was forced to eat a sandwich in a sexually suggestive manner and make moaning sounds while being coached by the actress.
She was reportedly coached by Haddish on how to simulate the act of performing fellatio and instructed to moan. The minor was paid $100 for the day and driven back home by the actress. The controversial skit reportedly took place between the years 2013 and 2014.
The “Girls Trip” star addressed the severity of the situation but noted she could not say much while the case is still ongoing.
“But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all — and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can,” she wrote in a post shared to social media on Sept. 5. She also disabled the post’s comments.
