‘Comedy Gold’: Fans Are In Stitches After Watching Snoop Dogg Announce the 2022 Golden Globe Nominees

Snoop Dogg made the 2022 Golden Globe Awards nominations announcement ceremony entertaining in a way that only he could.

The nominees for the 2022 Golden Globe Awards were announced on Dec. 13 and the “Gin and Juice” rapper was a surprise announcer, joining Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Helen Hoehne to reveal the talent up for an award during next year’s ceremony.

Snoop Dogg ran into some unexpected difficulties while reading some of the nominees’ names, however, which ended up being a bigger topic of social media conversation than the nominations themselves.

One surprising name that tripped up “The Dogfather” was that of actor Ben Affleck, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his drama “The Tender Bar.” “Been Aff-fleck,” he read before correcting himself with a laugh. “My fault, sorry, Ben Affleck. Sorry for that, Ben!” he continued.

Snoop also struggled to pronounce the names of actor Ciarán Hinds, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the film “Belfast,” and “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve, who is up for Best Director, Motion Picture for the film.

“Ka-ron, no, sorry, Karen Hinds! Work with me now!” he exclaimed.

The Golden Globes found humor in Snoop’s pronunciation troubles and poked fun at one of his flubs on social media, writing, “Tomato, tomato, Aff-leck, Affleck [winking emoji]”

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” artist’s blunders amused fans and only made them love him even more.

“Just another reason why Snoop should be right up there with Betty White, and Dolly Parton. National Treasures. [starry eyes emoji]”

“[laughing emoji][laughing emoji][laughing emoji]Funny mistakes are comedy gold.”
