Actress Tracee Ellis Ross had hearts aflutter on International Women’s Day when she celebrated the women in her life by posting a series of throwback family photos.
In particular, Tracee’s photos from her childhood with sisters Chudney and Rhonda, and their mother, iconic singer Diana Ross, had fans swooning over their fashion choices and beauty.
Tracee captioned the series of photos posted on March 8 as, “The women i come from. My foundation. My home. #internationalwomensday.”
“Diana Ross & HER Supremes❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
“I see Diana Ross in all of you”
“Nice genes,” commented another person, taking notice of the resemblance shared between Diana and her three daughters.
“Gorgeous and talented family❤️”
While fans obviously know Diana from her successful group The Supremes, her iconic hits such as “Aint No Mountain High Enough” and “I’m Coming Out,” and roles in “Mahogany” and “The Wiz,” each of her daughters have also found success in the entertainment industry.
Tracee became a household fixture after being cast as Joan on the hit Mara Brock Akil sitcom “Girlfriends” and most recently her roles on ABC’s “black-ish” and “mixed-ish.” Chudney has written and produced for television, and Rhonda is an actress and musician.
“Generations of Absolutely BEAUTIFUL women! Fell in love with @dianaross as a tween”
“So, so, so, SO BEAUTIFUL! Growing up must have been the most fun ever!!!
“Oh my word!! These images. 😍 Lil Tracee 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗”
“Diana Ross huntie was always dressed to the T! And her girl’s Beautifully Beautiful ❤️”
Diana, who is equally recognized for her voice and big hair, has a long history of being known for her wardrobe.
“My mom was very glamorous, but that was her work world. Our home was filled with beautiful things. My mom had beautiful clothes; my mom is elegant; my mom is glamorous,” Tracee said to HuffPost in 2015.
In fact her mother’s style influence can be found in Tracee’s wardrobe and some of her looks at awards shows, including the 2017 American Music Awards. As part of one of many looks that night, Tracee rocked a black blouse that was embellished with rhinestones. It was a blouse that Diana had worn in 1981 while performing with Michael Jackson.
Tracee recalled finding the article of clothing stored like a regular old T-shirt, simply lying around the house.
“I was out in the garage at one point and I came back in the house with this shirt and I was like ‘Mom! What is! Why is this not in a case? This could pay for college!” she recollected in 2017 while speaking with model Naomi Campbell.
With the stories this family could tell, fans can only hope to see the memories encapsulated on television one day.
“This family needs a tv show honestly!😢”
