Nene Leakes‘ famous friends flooded her inbox with well-wishes following her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” departure announcement.
The reality TV star, who has been a staple in the series since it debuted in 2008, confirmed that the show’s previous 12th season was indeed her last. Leakes was briefly featured as a guest of the show during its 8th season, but this marks the first time she’ll be completely absent from episodes.
“I have been on an extremely, extremely, long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation,” she said in a YouTube video posted to her channel on Sept. 17. “There has been a lot of emotions flying from both sides. It has been hard, and I have made the very hard and difficult decision to not be a part of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 13.”
Once word began to spread, celebrities, including many of her fellow reality TV stars, sent their best wishes to Leakes, which she reposted in her Instagram Stories. Among them were her former “RHOA” co-stars Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams, fellow Bravo star Mariah Huq, and even Solange Knowles.
“Your greatness may have been introduced through the reality genre as the first, but your talent has definitely broken down doors across every genre and I can’t wait to see what’s next,” “Married to Medicine” star Huq wrote.
Her former co-star Williams showed her appreciation for her contributions to the reality TV game. “Thank you for everything you have done and the ground you [laid] that I and many other walk on.”
“I am excited to see all the amazing things that God has put in place for you as your incredible journey continues,” reads Bailey’s message. “Continue to soar beautiful Black queen. You are you and that is your power.”
Ms. Saint Records herself, Solange, sent the TV personality wishes of “love and light” as well. “You are golden! So much love and light your way for your new journey!!!!”
Although her next move hasn’t been revealed yet, Leakes assured fans that her departure from the cast doesn’t mean that we’ve seen the last of her.
