Access to a hair salon may be limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that isn’t stopping Mimi Faust‘s hair from flourishing.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, the “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star showed off her thick and curly hair pattern in an Instagram post that has gained over 100,000 likes. The surprise reveal had fans in the comment section inquiring about the products the reality star used in her hair care routine.
Those who have followed Mimi on the popular reality television show were used to seeing the mother of one rock weaves and extensions. Still, fans were taken aback when they discovered the beautiful hair Mimi had been hiding all these years. One fan commented, “Girl you’ve been hiding this bomb ass curl pattern from the world all this time….!”
Another fan asked, “What products do you use in your hair because I have Jerry curls like that.” A third user commented, “❤️❤️❤️❤️I wish I could like this a million times! What products are you using?”
Hair, however, isn’t the only thing flourishing for the reality star these days. The 50-year-old’s love life also has been thriving. Earlier this month, Mimi announced that she and her longtime girlfriend, former WNBA player Tamera “Ty” Young, had gotten engaged. The couple had been dating since 2016, much of that time secretly.
Mimi shared a caption-less photo showing off her engagement bling placed on Ty’s hand, which featured the phrase, “She said yes!!” with a smiley face. Friends and family congratulated the couple, including former reality star Claudia Jordan, who wrote, “Congratulations my dear friend! So happy for you and your happily ever after!” She added, “You deserve it !!❤️❤️”
Meanwhile, “Basketball Wives” alum Tami Roman wrote, “OMGGGGGGG!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaay!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!! This makes me so happy 🤗🙌🏽💛.” A third user wrote, “OMG!!!!!!!! My love I’m so so elated for you! This one is real! I knew it from the start! Congrats Queen!💕.”
In the past, Mimi and Ty have tried to keep their relationship as private as possible. During an interview with VH1 in 2017, Mimi told reporters, “Every time someone gets on television with their relationship, it gets messed up.” When discussing whether or not her relationship would play out on camera, Mimi said at the time, “If she does a cameo, it’ll be FaceTime or a phone call. But if we do it, I need to be sure it’s going to be a safe scene.”
