Toya Bush-Harris appears to be shutting down rumors that she does not have Mariah Huq‘s back behind the scenes. The “Married to Medicine” reality star responded to a fan questioning her loyalty to the series showrunner and executive producer in a Sunday, July 12, Instagram post.
Toya shared a photo to the social media platform that showed her looking better than ever with a glam face and wavy black hair extensions. The mother of two wore golden eye shadow with a pop of purple in the inner corner of each eye. She enhanced her eyes with the perfect pair of false lashes and completed her makeup with a subtle nude lipstick. Toya appeared to be comfortable in her pink robe, but she insinuated in her caption that she was feeling anything but cozy because of the pandemic.
“Feeling like I need Covid To Go Away… Seriously!!!” she wrote. Although the Detroit native was venting about a serious issue, one user wanted Toya to address her friendship with Mariah.
Someone asked, “Why are you and the other cast mates not supporting Mariah….” Toya responded, “Please don’t believe everything you hear. All I can say is pray for your show and Gods will be done.”
Rumors swirled at the beginning of April that Mariah was fired from the hit reality show after Mariah revealed in an Instagram post that she had not yet received her contract for season 8. Shortly after the incident, Toya went on an Instagram Live chat with her best friend and “M2M” co-star Dr. Simone Whitmore, where Toya apparently threw shade at Mariah.
During the conversation, Simone asked Toya to reveal her least favorite co-stars on “M2M Atlanta.” Toya said, “The people that got fired.” Some people assumed that Toya was referring to Mariah. Mariah confirmed in an exclusive interview with Atlanta Black Star last month that the speculation was not true and shared that she was not sent packing from her franchise.
When asked about her opinion on Toya and Dr. Simone’s conversation, Mariah said: “I think that the truth of the matter is, they can’t … not one cast member can make a formal announcement about anybody’s termination or hiring. So that in itself … because sometimes you don’t even know if you’re coming back. They can’t speak on that, so I don’t know why people assumed they were talking about me, because at the end of the day I created the show and will always be connected to it.”
