VH1 apparently made its way back to the Windy City and started filming for the show’s new season, according to cast member Charmaine Walker. In an Instagram post shared on Monday, June 8, the new mother confirmed that the series was in the process of being recorded.
“The crazy part is … we been filming black ink crew this entire time!” Walker said with a series of green photos, adding that the show will include a virtual aspect. “Yes, staying socially distant. Filming from the crib on our phones. Itβs been different but I like working from home. Do you prefer working from home or are you ready to show up to your job and show out?! ππ½ββοΈ.”
The VH1 show was slated to air its new season last month, but the crew had stopped filming because of the current pandemic.
“Black Ink Crew: Chicago” boss and main cast member Ryan Henry, announced an hour before the season 6 premiere was supposed to air on May 6 that the show would return in the summer. The post read, “Sorry everyone! We are not returning tonight! See you this summer!” Henry added via Instagram, “Thank you for the support! Stay Safe and see you soon! @9magtattoo”
A premiere date for the show has yet to be revealed, and so far Walker is the only cast member to confirm the cast has been filming.
The 29-year-old’s storyline will more than likely center on her marriage with husband Neek Bey and their adorable 2-month-old daughter Nola Bey. Charmaine lost her mother Glenda Walker last October and continues to grieve. Nevertheless, Charmaine seems more than excited for the new season to premiere, and so do her fans.
“We’re ready! Thank god.. cause I need something to watch!” said an excited fan. “I love Chicago! Also I just want tips of how you get your hair like that!!!! I’m natural and the struggle is real!!!! Love you girl β€οΈ,” added another. Someone else told Walker they “couldn’t wait” until the new season premiere aired.
