In the wake of George Floyd‘s death, Yandy Smith-Harris is reminding Black folks of their “royalty” in her latest social media post.
The “Love and Hip Hop New York” star recently revealed how heartbroken she was over Floyd’s death , a 46-year-old unarmed Black man. He died in in police custody when a Minneapolis police officer held him to the ground as he kneeled on his neck for several minutes. Smith-Harris took to Instagram on Thursday, May 28, and uploaded a photo that showed her and four other Black women dressed as nubian queens.
Smith-Harris wrote in her photo caption, “I just want to remind you black people… YOU ARE ROYALTY. NEVER THINK OR ACT ANYTHING LESS. 🙏🏾🕊 Rest In Peace to the days we keep saying RIP. The ROYAL ARMY has awakened🤷🏾♀️. We kept warning you.”
Many of her fans acknowledged the message, while others gaped over her beauty.

Smith-Harris’ queen-like post comes a few days after she celebrated her five-year anniversary with her spouse Mendeecees Harris.
In 2015, the couple walked down the aisle and exchanged their marital vows. On May 25, Smith-Harris celebrated their special day with a throwback picture and sweet message that read, “Baby love…thanks for helping me become a grown woman @Mendeecees. Happy Anniversary Honey Bunches of Oats and Melanin😩🙏🏾❤️ #FirstSightTypeofThing.”
Harris also shared a heartfelt post to his wife, saying, “5yrs ago today, Was a day I’ll never forget…. Love u @yandysmith and can’t wait to enjoy many more with u!”
The couple’s fans raved over their loving posts to each other and wished them many more years of happiness.

Smith-Harris and Harris first met in 2006, while doing business in the music industry. The couple now share a son and daughter together.
