Kirk and Rasheeda Frost became a trending topic this week and they weren’t too happy about the reason why.
Rumors of Kirk adopting Rasheeda at 15 years old and marrying her at 17 have been circulating around the internet for some time now and the couple decided to address the allegations.
On Wednesday night, April 16, a Twitter user compared the “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star to R. Kelly after claiming Frost married his wife when she was a minor. The person tweeted, “Kirk adopted Rasheeda when shorty was 15…started having relations with her as a legal parent.. married her at 17 while he was 30. They been together for 20 years. He has 7 kids, 2 are hers. Why nobody compare him to Robert Kelly?”
She also re-posted an old video of Rasheeda and a woman apparently named Ebonie Elektra talking about how Kirk used to go up to her high school to get her.
When the user’s tweet started trending the person posting muted it and said, “I’m over it. Just know when this s–t come out yrs from now. I told ya so.”
Rasheeda denied the person’s claim and fired back, “U ain’t told nobody s–t w/ yo bootleg conspiracy theory ass. Come w/ facts not assumptions if u gone try 2 blast somebody. Here’s some help I’ve never been adopted I didn’t know sh*t bout Kirk when I was 15 & sho wasn’t thinkin bout gettin married @ 17 so worry bot Dat Rona!”
Fans instantly began calculating the age difference between the couple and speculated the marriage rumors were true. According to IMDB, Rasheeda is 37 years old and Kirk reportedly is 51. The two just celebrated their 20-year anniversary, which would’ve supposedly made the Pressed boutique owner 17 when they tied the knot.
However, Kirk and Rasheeda later addressed the teen bride rumors in a video and said that wasn’t the case.
“First of all I f–king adopt Rasheeda, I don’t even answer stupid s–t but since y’all on the stupid s–t I’m not interested in adopting Rasheeda,” Kirk Frost said in a series of now-deleted videos.
“I would definitely not be into marrying nobody at mutherf–king 17 and I’m 31,” he continued before Rasheeda Frost chimed in. She added, “I damn sure wasn’t thinking about getting married at 17. I have a son who’s 19 like come on.”
Kirk Frost urged naysayers to “grow up.” He added, “And for the record … I’m not interested in marrying a f–king minor. Never want to and y’all got me f–ked up .” He also blasted gossip blogger Tasha K, who allegedly was the person who started the rumor.
The drama surrounding the pair over the last few days drew mixed reactions from social media users.
