“The Wendy Williams Show” returned on Monday, April 6 after going off air last month amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Williams is conducting the show from her New York City apartment, which she said will be the new normal for the foreseeable future.
“So this is the way it’s going to be for quite some time so might as well get used to this,” she told viewers. “I’m in my apartment. You’re going to get one angle, the angle that you see. There will be no virtual tours, no nothing. This is all my stuff. This is the mess that I am.”
In the comments, many agreed with Williams that her place could use a little tidying since the background was cluttered with things like furniture, photos and a statue of the Betty Boop character.
“What a mess,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Clean up the junk,” wrote another.
“Wendy you need to clean up that damn mess,” a third viewer chimed in. “Tell people this is all you getting no tours. No one cares. it looks a mess and so do you😂😂😂😂.”
But there was one person who told Williams to pay no attention to her critics, because her true fans don’t care what shape her apartment is in.
“Wendy ignore the haters this at home mess is for the birds and you do what you can,” that person wrote. “Say what you like, when you like, as you always have. Your real fans are still here for you and we got you 🤗.”
In related news, the New York Post reports that Williams recently reduced the price of her home in Livingston, New Jersey.
Williams put the house up for sale in August 2019 when she was divorcing her ex Kevin Hunter. At the time, the house was listed for $1,895,000, but in January of this year it was dropped to $1,699,000 after not selling.
The five-bedroom, 4 1/2 bath property is now on the market for $1,575,000.
