‘Can’t Wait:’ Nick Cannon Shares Trailer for Dr. Sebi Documentary Started by Nipsey Hussle

Nick Cannon gave the first glimpse of his documentary on Alfredo Bowman, otherwise known as Dr. Sebi. The project is called “Strong Enemies: The Untold Case of Dr. Sebi,” and Cannon shared more about it Tuesday, March 31, on the one-year anniversary of Nipsey Hussle‘s death.

During a 2018 interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Hussle said that he was working on a documentary about Dr. Sebi’s claim that he could cure AIDS. Two days after Hussle’s murder, Cannon revealed he would take over the documentary as a way to honor the late rapper.

The trailer shows Cannon going to Dr. Sebi’s village in Honduras. He provides old news footage in the documentary along with newspaper clips and interviews from Dr. Sebi, who passed away in 2016.

People like Common, Erykah Badu, Karen Civil and Public Enemy‘s Professor Griff speak about Sebi in the documentary as well.

After people saw the trailer, they let Cannon know how excited they are to see it. There were also people who gave Cannon credit for keeping his word about carrying on Hussle’s plans.

“Can’t wait to see this @nickcannon I applaud you for your strength and your courage keep it going,” wrote one Instagram user.

“You kept yo word @nickcannon I appreciate you for that 💯💯❤️❤️🎯,” wrote another.

“Definitely looking forward to this!” someone else commented.

In Cannon’s 2019 post, where he promised to complete the documentary, he also sent a message to Hussle.

“Where you left off, we gonna carry one! It’s a MARATHON, so I’m picking up the baton! Because they can’t kill us all,” he wrote. “Now, your message is my message! Your work is my work! I know you still rocking with us and your voice will never be silenced because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Most High!”

Hussle was shot and killed in front of his Marathon Clothing Store in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. Eric Holder, the person accused of being the triggerman, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

At this time, Cannon hasn’t given a release date for the documentary.
