“Basketball Wives” reality television star Tami Roman is now speaking out about her bout with alopecia.
The 49-year-old appeared on the Nov. 19 episode of “Personal Injury Court,” sharing to Judge Gino Brogdon that a bad hair color treatment led to a scalp infection that caused her hair to fall out.
“Whew, chile, let me tell you,” Roman said.
“I’ve dyed my hair most of my life because I grayed early. So, I went to my stylist, and I said, ‘I want you to take my hair to platinum blond,’ and he said, ‘You know, it’s going to be difficult.’ And I said, ‘I still want it.’ And, six weeks later, all the hair fell out. I wanted what I wanted, and now I’m bald.”
Shockingly, Roman snatches her long black body-wave wig off her head, revealing a short platinum-blond fade with thin edges.
When the Bonnet Chronicles creator took off her wig, the audience burst out, “Oooooh!”
“OK. You’re gonna get what you want,” she responded.
Roman didn’t seem bothered or embarrassed about revealing her new ’do. She took to Twitter soon after telling fans how much fun the episode was and that if they missed the show, they missed out on a good laugh.
Several fans responded to her Twitter post, praising the reality star for sharing her truth.
