It’s been nine months since Kenya Moore became a first-time mom and welcomed daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly into the world.
In all that time, Brooklyn has made tons of progress including saying her first word — and it’s not a simple one like “mama” or “dada,” either.
Moore shared the update on her 9-month-old’s official Instagram account Wednesday, Aug. 7.
“9 months!!! I can crawl, I have 2 more teeth coming up top and I’m pulling myself up! My first word is ‘neighborhood’ no one believes my mommy but I did say it! #miraclebaby #babybrooklyn #family #love,” wrote Moore, who runs Brooklyn’s account, in the caption of a photoset of Brooklyn.
Clad in a red dress with a white floral print, puppy-eyed Brooklyn gazed up at the camera with a gummy grin save for a couple of teeth poking through.
The images had fans gushing over Brookie’s adorableness.
“😂😍 She is adorable. She’s a miracle baby, I’m sure she said it. ❤️”
“Brooklyn is sooooo cute!!!! She be giving me life ☺️”
“Best dressed baby ever….her dresses are always always so beautiful… coordinates always @thekenyamoore.”
“She looks so long! Another beauty pageant winner in the making!”
Additionally, followers also shared they believed the growing baby uttered the word “neighborhood.”
“I believe it,Because Mommy has an extensive Vocabulary.🤷🏽♀️Lol#Genetics💖 @thekenyamoore.”
“Baby Brook is a Star ⭐️ I believe she said it look who’s her mommy @thekenyamoore baby Brook should be doing commercials ✅ 👍🏾🙏🏾❤️🥰🥰🥰”
“🤣😂😂😂❤️ neighborhood… So cute!!! Kenya in my mind you’re one of my best buds!!! So happy for you!! You are my favorite on the show hands down from DAY 1. Stay blessed and focused on what matters. Your beautiful FAMILY #WHATMATTERS.”
Moore has long been open about her desire to start a family, namely because she did not have a positive relationship with her own mother growing up.
“No one really knows what it’s like to feel rejected and abandoned by someone who gave birth to you and who treated you so badly and who hoped you would fail,” Moore said to People magazine after giving birth in November 2018. “For me to have a family of my own, to me, that’s what makes me feel like I’m at the pinnacle of happiness.”
Moore’s road to motherhood was not easy, however, as concieving proved difficult. After she jetted off to St. Lucia to elope with husband Marc Daly in 2017, she went to a fertility clinic in Barbados that December. At some point after this Moore’s wish was granted, as by the time the season 9 “RHOA” reunion aired in April, however, the star was pregnant.
After surviving a harrowing delivery, Moore has been embracing motherhood at every turn, taking Brooklyn to New York, the Caribbean and recently to Toronto for Caribana.
