1. Atlanta Kick Back Book Festival
A little something for the folks outside the Perimeter, the third annual Atlanta Kick Back Book Festival is happening at the Cobb Galleria Centre July 20. Helmed by the award-winning 556 Book Chicks book club, the free event allows attendees to meet their favorite authors. They can also get their books signed and participate in giveaways. 2. Nickelodeon Slime City
This family-friendly event is perfect for the young generation. If your kids dream of playing in slime or if you want to live out your dreams of getting dunked in the iconic green gunk like they used to on “You Can’t Do That On Television” and “Double Dare,” here’s your chance. 3. Candytopia
This Instagram-ready museum is perfect for teens and young adults on the lookout for the perfect photo-op. The pop-up was extended last month to run through July 28 so visitors can soak in all the candy-themed adventures the 14-room, carefully curated art installation has to offer. 4. HBCU Summer Fest 2019
The HBCU Summer Fest is set to take place Aug. 9-11 and is the perfect way to get the community of historically Black colleges and universities together in one space. The event, which is also targeted toward high schoolers who hope to experience HBCU life, is a gathering of current students, alumni and others. Guests can soak in a yard show as they help the event’s goal to raise funds for scholarships and programming. More details and ticket information can be found online.
5. Atlanta Reggae in the Park LLC Presents BeREGGAE 6
Round out the last month of summer with the 6th annual event where you and your family can jam to reggae music in Piedmont Park. The free two-day event runs Aug. 10-11 and touts itself as the biggest free reggae event in the country. Tickets and more info can be found here.
