Less than 10 days after walking free, Apollo Nida has been taken back into custody for violating the terms of his parole.
The one-time star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” had been released from federal prison on June 4 and was serving the rest of his sentence in a half-way house in Philadelphia, according to The Blast.
While the exact details of Nida’s re-arrest are not clear, a source informed the celebrity news site he broke a technical requirement relating to the rules of his release.
Nida, whose ex-wife and former “RHOA” star Phaedra Parks filed to divorce him in 2014 around the time of his prison sentencing, was apprehended at the Philadelphia Federal Court House. The Blast reports he faces the possibility of remaining imprisoned until Oct. 15, 2019, which was his original release date.
The star was sentenced to 96 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to commit mail, wire and bank fraud. Upon his release to the halfway house last week, photos emerged of Nida with his fiancée Sherien Almufti in matching outfits as they were out and about in Philly that weekend.
But now, Nida is back behind bars and folks who watch “RHOA” and are fans of his ex-wife are mocking him as a result.
“When you do clownery, the clown comes back to bite.”
“Once a bum…”
“What I tell y’all? His ego is too big to do the right things 😂😂. He desperately trying to get back to the cameras.”
“‘You big dummy’ in my Fred Sanford voice😂😂😂”
“This guy don’t learn. Don’t he want to do good considering his 2sons don’t see him. Didn’t he just come out just now. N back in already. He’s a joke.”
“How stupid could you be🤨 welp 🤷🏾♀️”
However, according to Almufti, her man did not actually violate his parole. Her Instagram post Friday responding to the news indicated a parole officer’s jealousy is why Nida is back in the slammer.
“They can’t stop us babe!!! For those who are confused @apollonida03 didn’t violate a goddamn thing. Another crime against a black man in the system. Jealously is a disease and his PO will die mad!! 🤷🏼♀️,” she captioned a photo of her hugging a bearded Nida.
Meanwhile, Nida’s ex has remained silent throughout all the hubbub. Parks did not remark on his initial early release from prison nor has she made any statements on his re-arrest. She has, however, been focused on the two young sons she shares with Nida.
On Instagram early Friday, Parks shared footage of her and 6-year-old Dylan, and 9-year-old Ayden Nida getting slimed at Nickelodeon Slime City, which opens to the public Saturday, June 15 in Atlanta.
“Thank you @Nickelodeon for a super #fun slimy time at #NickSlimeCity #familyfun #momlife 🎉,” she captioned the post.
