Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley will apparently spare no expense to ensure their baby girl has everything she needs as she grows up. And according to one of the jokes the then-prospective dad had for Williams’ baby shower, the result has led the baby to be in debt.
In a preview for the upcoming debut episode of Williams’ three-part special, “Porsha’s Having a Baby,” McKinley said he wanted to do a stand-up comedy routine at the party rather than give a toast.
“Let me go to my joke notes,” Williams’ fiancé, who is a local business owner and not a comedian, tells his betrothed as they lie in bed during a clip of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” spinoff. “You know, this baby shower [is] expensive as hell. The baby already have a lot a debt.”
The joke fell flat with Williams and had her “Dish Nation” co-host Gary with da Tea, who is also on tap to host the ceremony, imploring her to help her man out.
“I need you to, honey, have somebody get a nice cardboard thing, honey and put ‘laugh’ on it,” Gary quips. “‘Cause, girl, he gon’ get crickets!”
Williams and Gary cracked up at the moment and so did fans when they glimpsed the clip.
“The joke was so bad it was funny 😄”
“@vickit10 kml Porsha is a trip. Didn’t even try to laugh at the joke.”
“Wtf😂😂😂 your face says it all”
“Lmfaooooooo I dont know why I thought that was funny as hell.”
While this moment was light-hearted, it won’t be all kicks and giggles when fans tune in to the “RHOA” special. Another preview shared earlier saw Williams and McKinley butting heads over their living arrangements. McKinley had moved his belongings, which were formerly in his Atlanta bachelor pad, into the basement of Williams’ home in Duluth, Georgia.
“My entire life is in the basement of Porsha’s house,” McKinley said in the clip.
More fallout came when Williams demanded McKinley “stop with this ‘your house’ stuff.”
Then, he blurted out, “You can’t tell me it’s my crib [too] but then try to hit me with a rental agreement.”
Speaking to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution this week, Williams also disclosed there was some tension between her mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law.
“We had unexpected dramas with the moms,” Porsha admitted. “Dennis’ mom and my mom. My family showed up and showed out. I really feel like they made the show.”
The first part of Williams’ baby special, which will also chronicle her giving birth to baby Pilar Jhena’, will air Sunday, April 28 at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
