Fans better pay close attention to the upcoming season of “Basketball Wives” because it will be the last time they’ll see longtime star, Jackie Christie.
The reality TV star shared the news that she’s exiting the VH1 series on her Snapchat story Thursday, April 18.
“I got into it at the skating rink,” Christie says in the clip as she sits in what looks to be a vehicle. “[A lot of people] want me gone. Are you guys gonna continue to watch the show? … If you do, have fun.”
The book author added in the caption, “Awe it’s been fun bbw8 saying bye to all the girls 1by1 😍😂 y’all continue to support them.”
The announcement left fans stunned.
“Whaaaaaaaaat in the world the show hasn’t even come back on yet and its already drama.”
“Why IS SHE LEAVING SHE IS F—ING HILARIOUS the s–t she comes up with be having me dead.”
“Noooo you can’t leave Jackie 😂😂.”
Some doubted she was actually parting ways with the show, however.
“I don’t believe she leaving something had to happen 🤨”
“She talking low because when she pop up on the show again she gone be like y’all can’t even hear what I’m saying in that video! 🤦🏿♂️”
“Ehhh doubt it. She was funny af.”
Christie joined “Basketball Wives L.A.” in its first season. During that set of episodes, viewers watched her prepare for the annual renewal of her vows to retired Los Angeles Lakers player Doug Christie. The two had a fabulous renewal ceremony in Vegas. The season also saw tempers flare between Jackie and her cast mates over gossip she spread.
Throughout the seasons of the eight-year-running series, which was later spun into “Basketball Wives,” Jackie has displayed many wild antics and meltdowns. One particularly heated moment came during season 6 when Christie called Evelyn Lozada “b—h” in front of her daughter, Shaniece. Christie drummed up the incident when the ladies and their co-stars met up at a bar. As everyone stood outside, Christie told Lozada she read online that Shaniece is a “build-a-whore.” The women exchanged some heated words and even tried to fight each other before security broke things up. Neither Lozada or Christie ultimately got physical, but they did spew some verbal blows.
However, while Christie was filming season 8 of the show earlier this year, it seemed as if she was getting along with Lozada. They were even laughing with one another between takes. More recently, Christie showed love to Lozada by wearing her set of earrings and promoting them on Instagram.
