“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” mother Rasheeda Frost along with her husband Kirk Frost drew backlash this weekend after going all out for their son’s recent high school rite of passage.
Rasheeda and Kirk apparently spared no expense for their 18-year-old son Ky Frost and his date after renting a helicopter for the pair to arrive in at their senior prom this past Saturday.
Rasheeda took to Instagram on Sunday with photos of Ky and his date, whose name apparently is Madison Shaw, posing together in their matching “Nipsey Blue” prom ensembles. In the caption, the proud mother of two wrote, “Senior Prom #2019 💙 had to do that #nipseyblue … 😍.”
The “LHHATL” actress also shared a video of her son and his date taking photos at a helicopter rental facility in Atlanta as they prepared to make their way to the event. She suggested in her post that she wanted to make her son’s senior prom a night he would never forget.
“A #seniorprom to remember 💙💙 They had a great night…. #prom #2019,” Rasheeda added.
The amount of money that Rasheeda and Kirk spent on their son’s lavish prom arrival is unknown, but according to a popular helicopter rental company in Atlanta, “Atlanta Helicopters,” the cost can range from $65 to $350 per seat.
Many fans, however, felt the couple went overboard.
“@rasheeda a helicopter is too much,” one fan wrote. “You could’ve donated this money for better use!”
“So no more limos and party buses we’re now down to helicoptering it to prom? Oh Boy! I feel this was way too much 😮,” another person added.
“Over bored I cringe everytime I see this foolishness wayyy to much but ok,” someone else commented.
Fans and supporters of the television personality raced to her and Kirk’s defense, urging haters to keep their comments to themselves.

Last May, Rasheeda expressed how much she appreciates being a mother but explained that sometimes it can be hard when running a successful business. However, during an interview with VH1, the “Boss Chick” said she likes to think of herself as a “cool mom” and not a “regular” one.
“I am cool but don’t try to take advantage of my coolness. I have that 17-year-old now that tests us, so I’m cool to a certain extent because I have to be strict. But at the end of the day I think I’m pretty cool.”
The “Pressed” owner also expressed that she hopes Ky and her 5-year-old son Karter will take after her entrepreneurial spirit.
“I want them to step out on their own, be bosses, and definitely look to their mama and be like, ’My mama did it, so I want to do it too.’”
