‘LHHATL’ Star Karlie Redd Denies Having Threesome With Pooh Hicks and Her Husband, Fans Side with Her

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” veteran Karlie Redd found herself in the middle of controversy during Monday night’s season premiere.

Redd, who started the episode on cloud nine after telling the world about her engagement to Maurice “Mo” Fayne, ended with security having to hold her back from fighting her former friend Pooh Hicks, the wife of former Def Jam president Hiriam Hicks.

Redd and Hicks’ quarrel began after Redd purposely left her now archnemesis’ name off of her engagement party guest list. The singer indicated she didn’t want Pooh around her friends because she was a little too “touchy-feely.” Hicks, on the other hand, felt she should’ve been invited to Redd’s event, considering their spicy history together.

According to Hicks, she and her husband have an open marriage, and Redd happened to be one of their bedmates back in the day. Redd, however denied her former friend’s allegations, accusing her of lying. The drama between the two definitely didn’t stop there.

Hicks showed up to Redd’s Merci clothing boutique in metro Atlanta to confront the owner face-to-face, wanting to know why she wasn’t invited to the engagement festivities. Redd explained to her old friend that she’s surrounding herself with people who aren’t “clout chasers.” Hicks proceeded to get upset and air all of her and Redd’s dirty laundry, accusing the reality star of doing raunchy things with her and her husband. Redd reacted by picking up a phone, seemingly about to throw it at Pooh, but security intervened.

“LHHATL” viewers sided with Redd, claiming that Pooh was “putting on a show” for television.

“Dang I hate to say by Karlie messy ass might be telling the truth 🤔 ! Pooh seem like she putting on a show for the cameras.”

“Pooh you and your husband are crazy sis I actually believe Karlie ain’t sleep with dem.”

“Whether this true or not why are u chasing down an invite to a party 🤔🤔 she shoulda got the hint when Karlie was ignoring her! You cant be that pressed to attend sus!!”

“Karlie never lie on what she do so i dont believe the sheman woman hater period team miss red 👊🏽.”

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
