Reginae Carter’s ‘Snatched’ Photo Derails After Folks Blast Her for Wearing Gucci: ‘Ya Celebs Fake Asf!’

Reginae Carter, the daughter of rapper Lil Wayne, is currently under fire for wearing designer brand Gucci.

Earlier last month, the Italian brand was accused of selling an item that resembled blackface, sparking an array of controversy on social media. The incident incited a boycott by Atlanta rapper T.I. who urged the Black community to stop purchasing high fashion brands, but it seems not everybody agreed.

Carter who’s best friend’s with the rapper’s daughter Zonnique Pulins, posted an image of herself on Instagram March 16, rocking a $1,500 Gucci fanny pack over her Let’s Vogue Girl pink bodysuit. She wrote in her caption, “Treat me like an option and I’ll show you how many I got 😏.”

“Yesss @colormenae let that nigga know you got plenty options pink panther 😍🙌,” someone else commented.

Others were infuriated by “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum’s decision to sport Gucci despite its recent racist allegations and amid T.I.’s boycott.

“Damn Nae didn’t Unc just tell us to dead that Gucci. Gucci is cancelled 🙄!”

“Its still cancelled sis @colormenae 🙄 Stop supporting Gucci!”

“Ya celebs fake asf clearly don’t value yourself supporting that brand smh.”

“Show Gucci you got more options. It treated us like we an option 🗣!”

The post even sparked a comment from Carter’s play auntie and T.I.’s wife Tiny Harris who wrote, “Ok that looks new Nae 😠.”

In February, Gucci immediately pulled a $890 black wool balaclava sweater that included a red cut-out for the mouth with bright red lips, evoking minstrel imagery. Social media users immediately deemed the garb “racist” and “offensive.” The company apologized for its faux pas in a statement on Feb. 7, but it wasn’t well received by many folks including the “Troubleman” rapper himself.

“Y’all GOT US fu–ed UP!!! APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED. Our culture RUNS THIS S–T!” T.I. wrote on Instagram Friday, Feb. 8. “We (People of color) spend $1.25 TRILLION/year (but are the least respected and the least included)and if we stop buying ANYTHING they MUST correct any and ALL of our concerns.”

The Atlanta native also posted a “call to action”, urging supporters and fans to: “stop buying Gucci for 3 months.” He also blasted Prada and Moncleurfor their insensitive designs produced last year adding, “Ok…Y’all gon get this WORK as well ✊🏾✊🏿!”
