Singer Keyshia Cole recently addressed reports of her divorce from estranged husband Daniel ‘Booby’ Gibson possibly being dismissed in court.
A judge reportedly warned Cole that her divorce from Gibson would be thrown out of court if she didn’t hurry up and finalize it. Legal documents were filed on Jan. 10 informing the pair of the status of their case. Neither party has legally proceeded with their divorce case since October 2017.

Cole noted on an Instagram platform post on Jan. 12, that she was more than ready to move on with the divorce, but was waiting for Gibson’s legal team to make a few changes in their legal documents. She claimed that her estranged husband, who played seven season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, is still requesting spousal support and full custody of their 8-year-old son DJ.
“I would love to move forward with the divorce, “Cole wrote. “His LAWYER needs to change his positioning in legal documents. I am not giving him full custody nor no damn spousal support! And I’ve asked him over and over to do so, the ball is in his court.”

Cole made it clear that she’s not budging forward with any legal processes until Gibson makes a few changes to his divorce documents. She also accused her estranged husband of not doing “things the right way.”
The “I Remember” singer filed for divorce against Gibson in September 2017, citing irreconcilable differences although they were legally separated since October 31, 2014.
Cole and Gibson tied the knot in May 2011, but their marriage crumbled shortly after the former NBA player allegedly cheated on his wife with another woman.
“I won’t say that I didn’t cheat, but I will say that I cheated my wife out of a friend in a lot of situations where I was supposed to hold her down and I didn’t,” Gibson revealed to RollingOut Magazine in 2014.”
Since they’re separation, both Cole and Gibson have managed to move on to new relationships. Cole is currently dating 23-year-old aspiring rapper Niko Khale and Gibson is dating 24-year-old Sinfony Rosales.
Although, Cole and Gibson are in the midst of divorce drama, they’ve still managed to healthily co-parent their son DJ.
