Since Kim Porter passed away from unknown causes last month, her ex Sean “Diddy” Combs has been responding to the well-wishes and condolences.
He’s also been giving small updates on how he’s doing in his new life as a single parent. For example, he posted a video of himself earlier this week taking his daughters to school and said he was embracing the dual mother, father role with both arms.
But it’s possible that Diddy felt overwhelmed for a moment, because he shared a video by Bishop T.D. Jakes about not giving up when the urge to quit keeps nagging.
“It’s an urge, truth be told, every champion has felt it,” said Jakes in the clip. “Every president has felt it, every king has felt it, every lion has felt it, every winner has felt it, every soldier has felt it, every victorious person has felt it, the urge to quit. Don’t you give up on your dream.”
“I don’t care if you don’t have the money, you don’t have the help and you don’t have the family for it and you don’t have the background for it and you don’t have the friends for it,” Jakes continued. “Don’t you give up on your dream. Don’t you do it.”
Bishop Jakes’ message of resilience obviously resonated with Diddy and he wanted to share it with his followers
“I know the feeling,” wrote the rap mogul. “But don’t you do it. Let’s go. #CANTSTOPWONTSTOP. Have a blessed day. Love y’all.”
It seems Diddy’s post served two purposes: It reminded him that he has to keep going after Porter’s passing since he has two girls to raise and a two sons to guide. But it also inspired other people, who thanked the Bad Boy founder for relaying Bishop Jakes’ message.
“Diddy, @bishopjakes. I needed this word this morning. My God. Thank you for such a powerful message,” someone wrote.
“Your’re a champion’s champ, Sean,” another person commented..
“Stay strong, baby,” a third person wrote. “I don’t know you, but it looks like you have a lot to live for. Keep going. Don’t quit.”
