With several projects underway and a new hit out on the radio, rapper 50 Cent was unexpectedly tweeting from a hospital bed this week. But why was he in the hospital?
The 36-year-old tweeted a picture of himself in the hospital bed, holding three cute stuffed animals. Even with his new plush buddies around him, 50 cent didn’t even crack a smile for the camera. He wasn’t shy about being admitted to the hospital, but he has neglected to tell his over six million followers on Twitter exactly why he was admitted in the first place.
The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ star has always had an intimidating demeanor. After releasing songs like “Many Men” and “Candy Shop,” nobody expected to see the explicit rapper holding a stuffed giraffe, elephant, and lion in the hospital. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, seemed to be more concerned about his music business than himself. Instead of worrying about his health, 50 took to Twitter to make sure his fans knew that his upcoming EP, The Lost Tape, would still be released on the 22nd. “I’m in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time,” 50 tweeted.
Another tweet revealed the head of G-Unit reaching out to his best friend, Floyd Mayweather. “I don’t want to go into surgery. @FloydMayweather call my phone why your phone off,” he tweeted. Other than his not so clear Twitter messages, there is no word out yet on whether the rapper will actually need surgery or not. He also did not go into details on whether he is expecting a local or general anesthetic. DJ Drama, who is featured on Jackson’s new EP, doesn’t seem worried about his friend at all. He thinks it’s nothing more than a stomach virus and expects him to be back on his feet real soon. “He should be cool. Its nothing that serious,” DJ Drama told XXL magazine.
It seems as if TwitPics from hospital beds are becoming a Hollywood trend as Rihanna just snapped her own photos in her hospital bed a few days ago. The edgy singer was said to only be suffering from “exhaustion and dehydration” and made a quick recovery.
