A report claiming Bravo executives are looking to fire Nene Leakes and Kandi Burruss from the long-running “Real Housewives of Atlanta” has been dismissed as fake news by a fan Instagram account for the show.
A report came out Wednesday, Nov. 14 that an emergency meeting was held Tuesday to address the future of the show and that included possibly ditching Leakes and Burruss, who are the oldest castmembers on the program.
“This season doesn’t really have too many juicy moments,” a source alleged to the website. “If people aren’t tuning in now — there isn’t much [coming up later this season] that’s going to make them tune in.”
The website reported ratings for the episode that aired Sunday, Nov. 11 were down, but official ratings say it maintained it’s premiere numbers. Still, Bravo heads apparently expressed doubt that things would turn around and they think Burruss and Leakes may be to blame.
“There is a feeling that Nene and Kandi are to blame for this lack of drama this season,” the source claimed. “They have been [with the show] too long, and they’re [too] controlling [of] what the cameras see about them. We don’t get to see drama in Kandi’s marriage — which everyone wants to see, [Instead] this season is like one big infomercial to all of Kandi’s business ventures.”
As for Leakes, executives allegedly say that despite her allowing cameras to document her helping husband Gregg Leakes sort through his colon cancer battle, she “wasn’t bringing it” this season.
The RHOA fan account that provides scoops on the show from producers and the ‘wives themselves denies it all.
“Nene and Kandi? Y’all should know this was a damn lie!” the account said Wednesday.
