Tami Roman Fans Express Concern After ‘Basketball Wives’ Star Uploads New Video

Tami Roman recently uploaded a video of herself vibing to a chill R&B track and the look on her face has fans thinking she’s been indulging in some potent marijuana.

“Don’t Tempt Me #IHaveFunInMyCar #carkareoke #iamtxs ❤️ #tooblessedtobestressed #enjoylife,” Roman captioned a clip of her lip-synching to TXS’ “Don’t Tempt Me.”

Fans quickly responded to her video.

“Auntie u been smoking some of tht ooohhweee….😍😘🔥”

“Tami high af lmao give me some of that oooooowweeee.”

“And your looking like Oooh I Don’t Do DRUGS that’s Why I SEE SO Clearly Not BOO But Fool Tried it Lets Go.”

The remarks are a shift in focus from what fans have typically zeroed in on with Roman in regards to her appearance.

Over the summer, the BBW cast member worried fans with her weight loss. And several even believed drugs were involved then.

“Ummmm… I don’t follow regularly and I’m not on IG a lot but when this picture came up I was shocked. She looks emaciated. I understand the health issue but I have questions?!?”

“Suss, you on drugs?🤔”

“@tamiroman now your weight loss is beginning to appear unhealthy. Happened to me too. Ensure for a week will get you right #trust me.”

But it wasn’t all negative. Roman did get some praise for slimming down.

“She is getting healthy, eating correctly to keep her diabetes in control. Keep up your health journey @tamiroman, you look beautiful!”

“Damn!!! People so irritating UGH! She’s choosing a healthier lifestyle which means weight loss is a result smdh. She looks great and seems like she’s in a great place mentally, physically, and spiritually. Yes!!! @tamiroman do yo thang girl👏👏.”

Regardless, she was forced to hit back at critics.

“I didn’t lose weight, I lost my willingness to die. DIABETES IS NO JOKE!” Roman stated on Instagram in June. “I detox, suppress my appetite and make better food choices. So enjoy yourself laughing, leaving negative comments & calling me a ‘crackhead’… but I have two beautiful daughters and I’m gon’ live for them by ANY means necessary. 💯”

Independent journalism doesn't fund itself.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
