In an upcoming segment of “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” Cynthia Bailey broke down in tears as her sister Malorie Bailey confessed to living in Cynthia’s shadow.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Cynthia and Malorie appeared on the OWN television show to work out some deep-seated family issues. Mal admitted to being in the middle of an identity crisis while being on the verge of a divorce with her husband.
In the upcoming episode, Mal wept as life coach and inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant is telling her to “just let it break.” Cynthia is sitting right by her sister’s side as Vanzant continues to scold the 49-year-old.
“Why is this happening to you” Vanzant asked. “Why would you let him do this to you? Why? Why would you do it?”
Malorie finally broke down and said being in the shadow of her model sister Cynthia has really affected her.
“We were so close and everybody would just compare us,” said Mal. “I feel like I had my life until I started the show.” She continued, “Even though [we’re] 11 months apart, she’s always been the one that took care of us.” Mal said she’s always been co-dependent on her big sister.
The tear-jerking episode featuring the Baileys will air on Sept, 29 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Fans said they definitely plan on tuning in to watch the two sisters.
“Hell yea…that’s my show!!! That’s not missing me at all.”
“I’m watching but for some reason, I don’t believe in anything Iyanla says.”
“So here for it!”
“Chilllllleeeee I can’t wait.”
“Too many times many of us women hold onto our broken heart.
Especially black women, and it’s because we feel it’s weak to cry, and become so protective of our brokenness. Once I realized this, in my early thirties I decided to cry from my soul. I cried about so much, and healing came through. I’ll be watching.”
