Questlove made it perfectly clear that he isn’t a fan of Kanye West‘s recent support of Donald Trump. “The Roots” drummer performed in Alabama at the “Concert for Peace and Justice” wearing a t-shirt that read “Kanye Doesn’t Care About Black People,” a reference to West’s memorable response to president’s Bush handling of Hurricane Katrina: “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people.”
The Black t-shirt with red writing was written in the same font as the rappers “Life of Pablo” album cover and included the statement “This is an Alt-Right Dream.”
Fans quickly chimed in on the apparent diss.
“SHOTS FIRED,” one person posted.
“I’m not black, I’m Kanye……..ok😳,” someone else remarked.
“#superfacts,” another person said.
Questlove isn’t the only celebrity that expressed discontent with West’s political views and support of President Trump. Rihanna, Drake and Nicki Minaj has unfollowed the rapper on Twitter. Over the weekend West released a song entitled “Ye Vs. The People” where he goes more in-depth explaining why he supports Trump.
