Tiffany Haddish isn’t one to live on the safe side so the fact that she took a beauty risk shouldn’t come as a surprise. But the hair adventure “The Last O.G.” actress took is something she’d advise against.
At 15, the comedian decided to chemically straighten her hair to impress some boys in school. The result wasn’t as nice as she hoped.
“Just be who you are,” she told People magazine’s “Beautiful Issue” of what she’d advise for her teenage self. “All the girls in school had perms and stuff or they already had naturally silky hair, so I thought if I get a perm, and then I can get in the swimming pool and my hair will lay straight and then boys will like me and all that. But I was too goofy anyways.”
It turned out the guys “still liked me anyways except for when all my hair had fell out [from the perm], and I was like bald,” Haddish added.
The hair disaster made her discover “[Boys] gon’ like you regardless” because ‘you a girl!”
