As Mathew Knowles continues to make the rounds promoting his memoir “Racism: From the Eyes of a Child,”, the famous manager is addressing a situation the Knowles-Carters rarely discuss. During an appearance on “Good Morning Britain,” Beyoncé and Solange’s dad discussed the infamous elevator fight that grabbed headlines in 2014.
“It’s always hard for a parent to let go,” he said in a Tuesday, Feb. 13 interview when asked about the post-Met Gala attack and Bey and Jay-Z’s marriage woes. “I felt the same way when I was growing up, I didn’t want to be under my parents’ nest so I understand that. I hope, and I feel very calm and comfortable about this, that they’ve been given the tools to be successful. Are they going to make mistakes? Absolutely. But mistakes are a reason to grow. I’m more concerned about the racism and colorism.”
After the Met Gala four years ago, Solange was captured kicking Jay-Z in an elevator as Beyoncé looked on. Speculation was that it stemmed from Jay cheating on Bey and in 2017, he confessed to doing so.
