Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis announced the nominees for the 90th Oscars Tuesday, Jan. 23 and Jordan Peele and his film “Get Out” could have another shot at a coveted honor.
The film scored nominations in the Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay categories along with a Best Director nom for Jordan Peele and Best Actor consideration for star Daniel Kaluuya. The latter got a humous remix on his name thanks to Haddish — Daniel Hallelujah.
Peele was over the moon about his nominations, writing a string of tweets sharing his thoughts on the news.

Mary J. Blige and Octavia Spencer also earned nominations for Best Supporting Actress for “Mudbound” and “The Shape of Water” respectively. Spencer’s three total Oscar nominations and one win for 2012’s “The Help” could lead her to make history as the first Black actress to earn multiple nominations after winning. Plus, she has now tied Viola Davis with the most nominations for a Black actress.
Blige also has a nomination for Best Original Song for “Mighty River,” which she sang in “Mudbound.” The film also has scored a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination for director Dee Rees. Meanwhile, Denzel Washington earned a nomination for Best Actor in “Roman J. Israel, Esq.” Even retired Baller Kobe Bryant was nominated for his animated short, “Dear Basketball.”
