Beyonce is sparking controversy for wearing animal fur after it was announced that she and her mogul husband Jay Z were going vegan.
The 32-year-old Grammy Award-winning songbird was spotted sporting a $4,500 Christopher Kane wool-blend parka with a real fur collar as the star couple went shopping at Native Foods in Los Angeles.
Her attire seems questionable, considering vegans don’t consume any animal products and engage in a lifestyle that does not cause harm or death to animals.
Beyonce doesn’t appear to have fully grasped the concept of going vegan. She may be trying a vegan diet for the next few weeks, but a vegan lifestyle? Not so much.
The pair has maintained their new regime so far as the R&B diva joined her husband for lunch at the hotspot, where they ordered a vegan meal that included Portobello mushrooms, grilled corn and mac ‘n’ cheese. Beyoncé was so impressed with the cuisine that she took pictures of it with her phone and created an Instagram collage.
Jay Z announced his vegan plans in a letter on his Life + Times website, which read: “Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way. The rapper also mentioned in the letter that Beyonce would be joining him.
