Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett sat down with ESPN to describe what is was like coming to the end of their stay on the Boston Celtics team.
“I knew the writing was on the wall. We kind of felt it coming, toward the end of the year–even before the playoff started, we knew,” Pierce said.
Big Man Garnett explains how tough it was to leave fellow Celtic player Rajon Rondo behind, “This whole transition, you know we came in as strangers and bonded as brothers.” Garnett added, “Although I’m losing a teammate, I have a friend for life.”
In this clip, Garnett describes a moment that deeply moved him as a Celtic. That moment involved Coach Doc Rivers, a wad of money, and trip to the NBA Finals.
