Rihanna released a special behind-the-scenes video that gives her fans a sneak peek at her second River Island collection. Meanwhile, the paparazzi and fans ruined RiRi’s day at the beach in Poland as the prying eyes of the cameras made the bikini babe feel like she was “caged in” like an animal.
Despite all her partying and childish drama with Chris Brown, Rihanna is still one busy girl and even though she only recently entering the fashion industry, she’s already preparing to release her second collection.
The shot sneak peek video features Rihanna’s own music playing in the background as the camera pans over many of the designs that RiRi and her co-designer, Adam Selman, are working on.
The video reveals that Chris Brown’s ex is unusually hands-on with her designs and certainly isn’t just another songstress slapping her name on a project that she had nothing to do with.
The 25-year-old R&B star is seen picking out fabrics and displaying new sketches as she tries on a few of the pieces herself – revealing the major inspiration behind the collection.
Every look is very much Rihanna’s style, which she has admitted is the reason she got into designing in the first place. After she spent hours shopping for a certain look and couldn’t find it, she decided to take matters into her own hands and create the pieces herself.
It also becomes very apparent that the Stay songstress had a lot of fun with this project as she is caught cracking up and dancing throughout much of the video.
“We had a lot of fun this time around,” Selman told Vogue. “The first collection was a lot purer, about finding pieces that Rihanna felt were missing from her closet. There is a real concept to this one. I can’t give too much away, but we travel so much and experience so much of the world. We’re very lucky to do so and that definitely inspired us.”
The fall/winter collection is also interesting because both of the designers are used to warmer climates. So instead of featuring tons of sweaters and heavy winter gear, the collection puts more emphasis on layering pieces that can also be worn again in the warmer months.
Of course, Rihanna wasn’t going to create another collection without making some party dresses.
“She loves going out, that’s her thing,” Selman continued. “She really wanted to create dresses that girls want to party in around the Christmas season. The fit and silhouette is very important to her.”
He went on to express how grateful they were to be working on their second collection, but all that good news wasn’t enough to lift Rihanna’s spirits when her fans with cameras and the paparazzi tracked her down in Poland.
It’s no secret that the Bajan beauty hates having too many cameras around her if they aren’t for the use of her own Instagram or Twitter account. So when she was greeted by flashing cameras in Poland, her day at the beach was quickly ruined.
She stepped out in a retro sun visor that matched perfectly with her white rimmed shades and fishnet cover up. Her tiny mint blue bikini showed off her latest tattoo work across her rib cage that has unfortunately been mimicked by almost every female Rihanna fan in America.
After she couldn’t get the cameras to leave her and her BFF Melissa Forde alone, the duet built a barrier with giant white umbrellas that blocked some of the camera views, but also obstructed most of their view of the beach.
Forde took a short Instagram video inside the umbrella fort where Rihanna is captured saying, “caged in like a f*****g animal.”
After giving up on the adventure, RiRi posted a photograph of herself to Instagram in her bikini along with the caption, “Tried to have a beach day, that was a fail!!”
When will she learn that if she stops to answer one or two questions and take a few pictures with the fans who brought her success in the first place, many of the camera-flashers will be satisfied and leave her alone?
