'Lego 3D' Movie Stacks Its Cast

Newest cast additions to ‘Lego 3D’

Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, and Allison Brie will join Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, and Chris Pratt in lending their voices to the new animated Lego 3D movie. Pratt voices the main character Emmet, an unsuspecting hero who gets wrapped up in an adventure after a case of mistaken identity. Ferrell voices an uptight CEO, while Nesson is an unruly henchman known as “Bad Cop”. Offerman (Parks and Recreation) offers his voice to a pirate and Brie is a member of Emmet’s team with a game changing secret.

The stellar voice cast will no doubt bring in fans of all ages, a tactic used in other animated films like Dreamwork’s Shrek and Pixar’s Monsters Inc. It’s fun to see so many televison stars, like Allison Brie from Community and Mad Men along with Parks and Recreation stars, Offerman and Pratt, continue making their move to the big screen. Arnett, a seasoned TV actor as well, appearing in Arrested Development and currently starring in Up All Night, is no stranger to voicing animated films with his roles in Despicable Me, Ratatouille, and Monsters vs. Aliens. Ferrell’s also done his fair share of animated movies, who can forget his performance as Megamind. Last but not least, it will be fun to see Neeson in a more family friendly role for a change, although significantly less bad ass.

A few years back most actors were categorized as either “film” or “television” stars, but in 2012, many big name actors and actresses are dabbling in both mediums and doing a great job with the crossover.
