The official poster and release date has been released for the upcoming biopic Hitchcock, starring the iconic duo of Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren.
To be sure, the new poster renders Hopkins nearly unrecognisable. It features the legendary star in full costume posing in Alfred Hicthcock’s famous upright pose. Oh yeah, he’s also holding a butcher knife.
The film will be based on Stephen Rebello‘s book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, which unsurprisingly centers on the making of Psycho. The film adaptation promises to center on the relationship with Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville, who will be portrayed by the always glamorous Helen Mirren.
Hitchcock will also feature Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, Ralph Macchio, Jessica Biel, and Kurtwood Smith. The film will be directed by Sacha Gervasi, who only has an unknown documentary to his name. He has, however, The Terminal along with a few others to his name in terms of screenplays.
Hitchcock is now officially set to hit theatres on November 23, just in time for the holiday-Oscar rush. Have a full look at the new poster below.
