Angelina Jolie may have gotten herself into a minor legal issue. The Hollywood starlet is facing a new lawsuit over her upcoming directorial debut, which accuses her of copyright infringement.
The actor wrote and directed “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, which is a film about a romance between a rape and kidnap victim and one of the suspects. The setting takes place during the 1990s Bosnian Civil War.
Croatian journalist James Braddock, the author of “The Soul Shattering”, claims that the movie violates copyright of his book, and has filed the lawsuit against Jolie.
In the lawsuit, Braddock mentions that he met with Edin Sarkic, a producer for the movie, prior to talks about turning his book into a film, but they couldn’t meet on common grounds.
The film is set to be released on December 23.
Braddock has also filed an injunction against the movie to stop its planned release.
