Halle Berry has faced plenty of Hollywood drama throughout her decades-long career.
However, her latest battle is playing out far from the cameras and red carpets she once commanded.
The stakes are deeply personal as Berry faces another court battle, and the fallout has placed her family under an uncomfortable spotlight.

The Oscar-winning actress is caught in an ugly family dispute.
Fans are questioning whether her third husband’s latest accusations are really about protecting their child or something else entirely.

Now, a heartbreaking courthouse appearance has supporters rallying behind the 60-year-old star.
On Monday, Oct. 19, Berry appeared at Los Angeles Superior Court for another round of her bitter custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez.
Footage shared by Backgrid shows the actress walking down the courthouse steps in a tailored chocolate brown, smartly-tailored suit and oversized black sunglasses.
She sported a short brunette bob and carried a large matching Aquazzura Voltaire Leather tote bag. Her fiancé, Grammy-winning musician Van Hunt, remained close behind her in a gray suit.
Reporters repeatedly asked how she thought the proceedings would go.
Berry’s facial expression stayed firm, with a faint smile, but she refused to answer. Her strained expression convinced some fans she was barely holding it together.
“Halle is fighting back tears ok. Praying for the best outcome for her family… privately,” one supporter wrote. Another declared, “The wig tells me she’s going to win!”
A third cheered, “I know that’s right! Head held high stop playing wit her this is a family matter period move out my way.”
Hunt’s quiet presence also caught attention.
“That man stickin beside herrrr,” one admirer commented.
But others directed their anger toward Martinez. Some accused the French actor of using their son to maintain his financial ties to Berry.
“The father is acting like a broke b—ch. He refuses to work and just wants to live off Halle’s money,” one person alleged. Someone else said, “Daddy doesn’t work, he gets child support. Sounds like he wants more. 8k a month is not enough for his non working a—.”
That accusation reflects fan speculation, not an established motive.
Berry’s financial history has fueled the conversation. Under their 2023 divorce settlement, she agreed to pay Martinez $8,000 monthly in child support. He also receives 4.3 percent of her income exceeding $2 million. Berry covers additional expenses related to Maceo’s education and health care.
Her previous custody battle with model Gabriel Aubry also involved substantial support payments. Aubry is the father of her daughter, Nahla. Berry previously criticized California’s child support system. She argued that wealthy parents could be exploited financially.
Martinez, 60, arrived at the courtroom with their 13-year-old son, Maceo. According to Page Six, the former couple exchanged nasty looks before Judge Shelley Kaufman began the proceedings.
The judge cleared the courtroom to protect Maceo’s privacy. The teenager subsequently testified for nearly four hours. His statements remain sealed.
During a lunch break, Maceo reportedly appeared relaxed while speaking with his father. He did not interact with Berry at the courthouse.
Martinez’s attorney, Patrick Baghdaserians, defended his client.
“Olivier is a great, loving father,” he told the outlet. “He is very caring and only wants the best for his son.”
The hearing followed Martinez’s Oct. 1 request for a restraining order. He alleged Berry choked Maceo during a Sept. 26 disagreement involving virtual reality goggles.
Berry vehemently denied the accusations. She described the encounter as playful roughhousing that escalated into an argument.
“I have never physically, emotionally, or otherwise abused Maceo,” she declared.
Her 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, also defended her mother in a sworn declaration.
“I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way,” Nahla stated.
Martinez challenged her involvement, arguing that she was biased. He eventually stormed out of the courtroom.
The temporary order has restricted Berry’s parenting time. Martinez wants sole legal and physical custody. Berry is fighting to restore their previous joint custody arrangement.
The proceedings were scheduled to continue Tuesday, Oct. 20.
For now, the allegations remain disputed. The court has not issued a final ruling. Meanwhile, fans are hoping the family’s next chapter unfolds with considerably less courtroom drama.
