‘A BREACH of Trust’: Karoline Leavitt Giggles as She Spills Trump’s Secret, Then a MAGA Ally Goes for Her Throat

Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is already spilling secrets about her ex-boss, President Donald Trump, and she hasn’t even been gone a month.

She’s also apparently shopping around a book about her time in the Trump administration as the youngest press secretary in history.

Leavitt appeared on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s podcast last week, angering some MAGA faithful for revealing unflattering stories about her time as Trump’s press secretary.

In one example, Leavitt told Hannity a story about Trump’s rudeness during a visit with former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“Yeah, with Starmer, I remember sitting at a lunch. I think we were at Windsor Castle. I don’t remember exactly where we were. Maybe we were at where Keir Starmer lived, uh, but we were in the UK … We were in the UK, and I sat in on a lunch with the president and Starmer,” she began with a grin on her face.

“We’re sitting around the table, and we’re all enjoying lunch, and we’re in this beautiful place, and the president just starts ripping into him for his policies. He’s like, ‘Your policies here are so stupid. You need to close your borders,’” Leavitt gossiped.

Hannity interrupted, “Says it just like that?”

“Oh yeah. ‘You need to deport these people you have in your country. I know your country. I know your people. They hate what you’re doing,’” Leavitt continued with a Cheshire cat grin on her face.

Then she literally starts laughing. “And Starmer’s just sitting there,” a gleeful Leavitt continued.

“Watching this, do you find it entertaining?” Hannity queried.

An excited Leavitt ignored Hannity’s question and continued giggling, “And this is in his house, in his country. We’re not even at the White House, like we’re not even on our own territory and he’s just — ”

Hannity cut her off at this point, asking again, “Do you find it entertaining?”

Leavitt laughed again, “Of course. I remember Stephen Miller and I looking at each other like ‘Oh boy.’”

An incredulous Newsmax anchor, Greg Kelly, posted the clip to X with a scathing caption.

“Unbelievable. So now that she’s an ex-press secretary, Karoline (with a K) Leavitt GOSSIPS about PRIVATE meetings the President had with world leaders?” the right-wing host of the show “Greg Kelly Reports” blasted her in the post.

But he wasn’t done bashing Leavitt as Republicans struggle in reliably red states ahead of the upcoming midterms.

“We’re in the middle of MIDTERM MADNESS and Karoline (with a K) ‘dishes’ Without a Care In the World. A BREACH of Trust: The President’s, and the Nation’s. So IMMATURE!!!!” he sputtered.

Leavitt is also apparently pitching a book to publishers “that promises an insider’s view of her time as President Donald Trump’s chief spokesperson,” according to Raw Story.

Social media erupted in derision.

“Of course,” a Threads user declared.

“Better hope that NDA was non-binding,” commenter Keith D. Wilson suggested on Threads.

Another wondered, “Who does she think she is?”

Leavitt left the West Wing on Aug. 27, and Trump still has not found a replacement. Some believe that’s why the president’s ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico went from an angry idea to a reality on Sept. 18.

A judge has temporarily reinstated the news outlets as a lawsuit against Trump moves through the courts.

But Trump found out firsthand what it was like when the major national networks and media stopped covering him. The five TV networks that cover the White House press pool, including Fox News, banded together and stopped providing reporters to cover his live events altogether for almost a week.

Some of the names batted around as a possible replacement for Leavitt include Trump’s former attorney Alina Habba and former White House communications staffer Taylor Budowich. Current Trump comms director Steven Cheung, Stephen Miller’s wife Katie, and CNN commentator Scott Jennings are also said to be in the running, according to Page Six Hollywood.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
