Former supermodel Tyra Banks has given fans plenty to talk about lately.
Her latest chapter has brought renewed attention to her new look and an old conversation.
While fighting to defend her name against Netflix — which released a documentary accusing her of mistreating and exploiting her “America’s Next Top Model” contestants — Banks has had a bit of a glow-up.
Over the last few years, Banks’ looks have been drastically inconsistent. At most events, she looks polished and runway-ready. Other times she looks disheveled with choppy hair and messy makeup.
But the former supermodel may have found a glam-squad MVP to take her up a notch.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, celebrity hairstylist Arrogant Tae shared photos of Banks, confirming he styled her latest look, which featured bombshell curls and blond highlights.
Banks modeled the layered style in five photos and one short video.
Tae’s work is well known, as he’s styled stars like Nicki Minaj, Ariana Fletcher, Angel Reese, Ice Spice, and La La Anthony.
He wasted no time showing how grateful he was to have the opportunity to do Banks’ hair.
In the caption, he wrote, “Woke up this morning n had glam with THE TYRA BANKS wow from watching her on my tv screen everyday, to actually being in her face and doing her hair.”
Fans showered Tae with praise.
One person who had to take a closer look said, “I thought this was Beyoncé.”
Another person who could recall her past hairstyles commented, “She’s back! Keep him!!! Cus the hair in the past wasn’t .. nvm.”
A third person typed, “Good… because them corner store wigs was not it.”
The blunt reaction captured the divide between Banks’ past hairstyles and the praise surrounding her latest look.
Supporters of Banks were overwhelmed by her new look saying, “Baby, that hair ain’t never looked as good” and “OMG hot damn.”
The praise has continued despite Banks keeping quiet about the transformation. She has not openly commented on her hair yet, and she may not be doing so anytime soon since scrapping her social media pages.
She cleared out posts on both Instagram and TikTok earlier this month ahead of a new project she dropped on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The 52-year-old launched her first Substack page, “The World Of Too Much,” where she will unload creatively.
The title is inspired by her own life and being often told that she was “too much.”
In fact, the hairstyle Tae did on her and the vibrant pink makeup look were for her Sept. 16 appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival, where she opened up about the Substack.
“To me, I feel sometimes with social media, I feel constrained,” she said.
Banks said social media makes her feel pressured to post something that will succeed with the algorithm. Additionally, it makes her overthink whether she is sharing enough of herself online or posting the best, most concise captions.
“I’m a writer, and people don’t know that,” she said. “I want to come back in a way that people are ingesting the ‘Too Much’ … while I figure out what I’m going to be in social and how that can express where I am right now.”
Banks’ Instagram currently features only reels. She has hidden them from her main grid, leaving them accessible through the reels section.
