Mowry recently surprised his followers by revealing that he had reunited with his TV dad John Marshall Jones. Jones portrayed the role of Floyd Henderson in “Smart Guy.” Both men came together for a skit on HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show.”

In the Instagram post shared on May 14, Mowry and Jones appeared to be deep in thought as they prepared to play a game. Following the 36-year-old’s upload, Mowry’s other co-star Jason Weaver commented, “Dooope!!!!”

As fans viewed the post, many expressed their excitement about the reunion by mentioning Mowry and Jones’ character names. An individual pointed out that this brief get-together would hold them off “until the reboot comes out.”

“Tj all grown up and his pops.”

“AWWWWW…the Hendersons are back together.”

“How did I miss this! TJ and Floyd back together again.”

“This may tie us over until the reboot comes out. This one was hilarious… Floyd and TJ. Together again!”

“Father and son lol. It was such a unique show. You rarely if ever see single dads journey. It could have easily went longer.”

Last May, during an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Mowry opened up about the “Smart Guy” reboot

While explaining that the upcoming show is in the beginning stages, Mowry said, “There’s been lots of Zoom meetings and talks about this, so we do have the ball rolling on it. It’s just a matter of time and timing, but we do have the possible home for it.”

Mowry also added that he’s played a significant part in creating new storylines for the series. He stated, “I feel like I came up with a really fresh take on how we can bring that back with the whole cast and something that is fresh and new. But also something that the diehard fans will still get that nostalgic aspect of it as well.”

Since then, no additional details regarding the “Smart Guy” reboot have been released.
