Steve Harvey has joined the group chat. The longtime game show host recently gave Kanye West some advice regarding the Grammy Award-winning rapper’s feud with veteran comedian and his Steve’s friend D.L. Hughley.
For readers who have managed to bypass the debacle – Kanye versus everyone on social media – the “Jesus Walks” rapper seemingly threatened to “hurt” Hughley after the 59-year-old shared his thoughts on Kanye’s erratic behavior amid his pending divorce from his ex-wife and reality star Kim Kardashian.
During his interview with DJ Vlad, the comedian suggested that Kanye was “stalking” Kim. The rapper caught wind of his remark and hopped online, where he took jabs at Hughley’s fashion style and referred to him as a “drug addict.”
The “Def Comedy Jam” star later launched off a series of Twitter posts in which he told the rapper, “Do you know how horrible you gotta be to make a #Kardashian date a white man!” The actor also poked fun at Kanye’s mental health.
During his radio show, “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” Harvey shared his thoughts on what may happen if the two men’s feud would turn into fisticuffs. “Pull up, it ain’t what you want. If y’all do get to scrapping, all my cash on D.L., cause you have no idea. You been a lil politically, socially conscious rapper—we from an a– whoopin’ era. … We from a whole ’nother era,” the 65-year-old said.
The actor added, “Ye, c’mon, man, back up a little bit. … D.L. ain’t your problem. Don’t go out there against that man’s family.” The “College Dropout” rapper has yet to respond to Harvey’s comment. Yeezy reportedly was suspended from Instagram for breaching the platform’s harassment policy.
Social media appeared to side with the “Family Feud” host, with many in the comment sections telling the rapper that this was one fight he should avoid. “Don’t go to war with comedians. It’s going to be endless. Not to mention he want smoke with Trevor Noah too,” wrote one Instagram user.
Another person commented, “Now Steve my boy but he ain’t say nothing to Future.”
“Not the Kings of Comedy street gang,” quipped a third person.
A spokesperson for Meta, which owns Instagram, told CNBC Thursday, March 16, that the Chicago native violated the firm’s hate speech, bullying, and harassment policies. While Meta did not disclose the details of the post, it did state that further action could be taken against the global hip-hop star if he continues his behavior.
