Rick Ross isn’t breaking a sweat when it comes to the rumors about Meek Mill dissing him and the Maybach Music Group label he owns, to which Mill is signed. In fact, Ross believes that Mill’s disses may have nothing to do with him at all.
Earlier this year, after dropping his album “Expensive Pain,” Mill went on a social media rant calling out his record label for not paying him. Fans were confused as to which label he was talking about because the Philadelphia rapper is not only signed to MMG but also Atlantic Records.
Ross responded to the criticism during his visit to “The Morning Hustle” on Dec. 16. He said, “I’ma be honest, when Meek takin’ a jab at anybody, the only way I can assume he doing that at Atlantic Records. All we ever did was get paper and it’s real easy to say a n***a name […] I know what it is when me and Meek always got money. He a boss now.”
The 45-year-old rapper went on to talk about his and Mill’s history of making money together and even said that there was no beef between him and the “Going Bad” rapper.
He said, “We done been down 10 years. Is he signed to Maybach Music? Yes, he is. But he’s also a boss and real bosses give other bosses opportunity to become bigger bosses. Go, man. Go buy the biggest shit in Dubai, man. Let’s go be billionaires. And if I’m only gonna get $7 billion and you get $20 billion, God is great! So that’s all it is. Is it any pressure? It ain’t no pressure. And always remember, it’s real easy to make it clear when it’s pressure.”
In a series of now-deleted tweets, Mill took to the social media platform in October to let off some steam in regards to one of the labels. He said in one tweet”, “ask the record label? how much have you spent on me as a artist? then you ask how much have you made off me as a artist? I’m about to make my record deal public by monday just to let the world see what these people on!!!”
In another, he wrote, “i haven’t get paid from music and i don’t know how much money labels make off me!!!!! i need lawyers asap.”
It’s not clear where Mill is currently at with the process of collecting his money from the label nor has he responded to Ross yet.
