Actress Nicole Ari Parker has joined the cast of the new “Sex and the City” 10-part series, “And Just Like That.” Sarah Jessica Parker shared a picture on Instagram of herself along with co-stars Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Nicole Ari Parker.
The Instagram post had fans wondering if the four ladies posing together meant that Ari Parker might be taking on a new Samantha-like character. Kim Cattrall, who played Samanta in the “Sex and the City” series and films, declined to return for the reboot, leaving the famous foursome a threesome.
Sarah Jessica Parker posted the pictures on Tuesday, Aug. 17, and captioned the Instagram post. Ari Parker also shared the post on her Instagram page with a caption thanking Parker for being the glue of the crew.
“Oh so fine. I’d sing along to 70’s love songs with this trio deep into any night.
@justlikethatmax I’ll see you ladies tomorrow! X, SJ.”
“These Beautiful Beings💋💋💋💋Thank you #SJP 🌷for holding the whole place together on such a long hot night 🎬🎥❤️🎶🎶🎶#bestplaylistever💃🏽💃🏻💃🏼💃🏼.”
Ari Parker will play a new character named Lisa Todd Wexley, a Park Avenue mother of three.
The actress has starred in several films including “Boogie Nights,” “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins” and “Blue Streak.” She also appeared on the television series “Soul Food.”
Also joining the cast is Sara Ramírez as a queer, non-binary comedian Che Diaz, and Sarita Choudhury as single Manhattan real estate broker Seema Patel. Karen Pittman will also join the cast as Dr. Nya Wallace, a professor at Columbia, per Entertainment Weekly.
Chris Noth is returning as Mr. Big, and Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Willie Garson are also returning for the series.
“And Just Like That” will premiere on HBO Max. A release date has not been set, but the series is currently filming in New York.
