Tia Mowry fans were feeling nostalgic on Aug. 19 after the 42-year-old disclosed that a latest project reunited the actress with a familiar face, her “Seventeen Again” co-star Mark Taylor.
“Seventeen Again” — which starred Taylor, Mowry alongside her twin sister Tamera Mowry, and brother Tahj Mowry — was a TV movie about divorced grandparents watching their grandchildren after a lab experiment goes wrong and transforms the elders into teenagers again.
The grandchildren, Sydney and Willie Donovan were played by Tia and Tahj. While Taylor portrayed a 17-year-old version of their grandpa, Eugene “Gene” Donovan, and Tamera appeared as his ex-wife grandma Catherine “Cat” Donovan. The film was released by Showtime in 2000.
In her initial post, “The Game” alum revealed that she and Taylor would be playing in a Lifetime television film called “Summer of Santas.” This latest project announcement comes after Mowry starred in two back-to-back Lifetime Christmas productions, including the 2019 “A Very Vintage Christmas” and “My Christmas Inn,” released in 2018.
While referring to “Seventeen Again” when describing Taylor’s youthful appearance, she said, “Talk about a #tbt! Who remembers 17 again? We are back together working on a movie for @lifetimetv! 😄 I think @therealmarktaylor7 must have gotten a hand on that magical soap! This dude doesn’t age!”
Taylor followed suit by reposting the actress’s upload with the caption, “About time right???!!!👀👀😄 So great to be working with this shining light again!!@tiamowry 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 We have a @lifetimetv movie coming for y’all!! Stay tuned! 😉.” As Mowry’s Instagram post became viral many fans fawned over Taylor. A couple of people even mentioned his portrayal of Grandpa Gene.
“Lord black don’t crack😩😍😍😍.”
“Grandpa Jean still a snack.”
“He just gon be fine forever huh? Damn.”
“Still the finest grandpa in history 😍😍😍 there has never been another 💕💕💕.”
“THAT MAN IS STILL FINE😍.”
Days before Mowry’s latest statement about an acting role, the actress broke fans’ hearts everywhere when the mother of two shared that she was not returning to “The Game” series reboot. At the same time, she also announced that the possible “Sister, Sister” reboot was no longer happening as well.
