‘Don’t Put Michael In It’: ‘RHOBH’ Star Kathy Hilton Claims Michael Jackson Told Her He ‘Doesn’t See Color’ Co-Star Garcelle Beauvais Responds

Reality TV star Garcelle Beauvais of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” was forced to address a conversation about race with her co-star Kathy Hilton on the latest episode of the hit Bravo series.

The discussion, which initially aired on Wednesday, Aug. 11, began after Hilton brought up “RHOBH” castmates Sutton Stracke and Crystal Kung Minkoff‘s fight from earlier this season during dinner. Stracke and Kung-Minkoff’s altercation took place at a girls’ trip in Lake Tahoe, California.

The girls’ trip included Stracke, Kung-Minkoff alongside Beauvais and Kyle Richards. While having a nightcap, the ladies then talked about Richards confronting Beauvais at the season-10 reunion for allegedly not paying her $5,000 charity pledge. Beauvais ultimately told the “Halloween Kills” actress —  during a May 26 episode — that the entire mishap occurred because the charity information was sent to one of her old addresses, while communicating that Richards’ initial confrontation set off a racial stereotype.

When Kung-Minkoff tried to elaborate on how not paying a bill could negatively affect Beauvais because she is a Black woman, Stracke then interrupted her — to which, Kung-Minkoff then stated, “Tell me you’re that girl. Tell me you’re the girl who doesn’t see color.”

As Hilton referred back to Stracke and Kung-Minkoff’s fight, she then recalled an alleged conversation she had with the King of Pop Michael Jackson about “not seeing color.” She told the ladies during a gathering at Richards’ home, “You know, Michael Jackson and I grew up together and Michael said to me, ‘Kathy, I don’t see color. I said, ‘Well, neither do we.’ “

Following Hilton’s alleged confession, Beauvais then chimed in and told her that the actress needed the mother of four to acknowledge that she was a black woman living in America despite not seeing color. “I know you can see me as a woman, you can see me as a mother, you can see me as a friend, but if you don’t see color, then you don’t see me.”

She added, “Now I need you to see color. I’m still a Black woman at the end of the day. That shows up before my intelligence, before my fashion; that shows up before anything when I walk in a room and I need you to see that.”

As the clip from the episode became viral many people expressed that bringing up Jackson didn’t necessarily help Hilton’s point. Others were even confused as to why the singer was in the conversation.

“Michael Jackson wondering how he in it and he ain’t even did nothing. 😂😂😂😂.”

“This is equivalent to “I’m not racist I have black friends.” She thinks bringing up Michael (a black man) makes it okay. 😂.”

“But don’t put Michael in it! Leave him alone.”

“Don’t name drop the deceased. They cannot confirm nor deny. 😶.”

“And she thought saying Michael Jackson said it was going to mean what exactly?”
