‘That Is Nasty’: Fans React to Terry Crews’ Answer on How Often He Showers

The non-bathing conversation continues.

Terry Crews is the latest celebrity to chime in on whether or not showering daily is necessary and the “White Chicks” star has somewhat of a mixed answer. On Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the “America’s Got Talent” red carpet, he was asked to give his stance about the debate and he said … (drumroll, please) “I love to shower.”

Crews even told the interviewer that he took “three” showers earlier that day. Breaking down his process, he said, “I took one in the morning after the workout, I took one before I got here, and then I took one in between acts.” His answer is similar to that of fellow actor Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson. Earlier this week, he too said he takes about three showers.

He tweeted, “Nope, I’m the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb. Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work. Face wash, body wash, exfoliate and I sing (off key) in the shower.”

However, in addition to saying he showers three times, Crews explained that showering isn’t necessary “if you ain’t been sweating.” He confessed, “I spend all day sweating, all the time. Running, working out and it ain’t nice.”

Currently, the 53-year-old is also a spokesperson for Old Spice, which is a grooming brand that caters to males and has a line of deodorants, fragrances, body washes, and beard maintenance products. With a wide grin, he said because of his role of being “Mr. Old Spice” he’s “got to get clean.”

The whole conversation started after married couple, and actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis revealed their opinions of the subject on Dax Shephard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast last month. Referring to his children, Kutcher said, “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

Then Shephard and his wife Kirsten Bell doubled down on Kutcher and Kunis’ comments in a separate interview saying that their children go “five or six” days without showering sometimes. Even Ice-T’s wife, Coco, and actor Jake Gyllenhaal both said, in other interviews, that they too do not shower all the time.

Fans responded to Crews’ answer about the debate. One person said, “wasup with all these celebrities not showering.” Someone else said, “I’m sorry but these celebrities are giving me they smell vibes.” Another person simply put, “That is nasty.”
