Kaavia Wade put her Shady Baby powers to adorable use in a hilarious moment between her, mom Gabrielle Union and dad Dwyane Wade.
On Feb. 17, Union shared a video to her Instagram page that displayed another side of daughter Kaavia’s ever-entertaining personality when the “Being Mary Jane” actress was caught trying to sneak in a little cuddle time with her hubby, retired Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade.
“Group hugs only. No solo hugging in this house on @kaaviajames watch. 🤣🤣🤣This kid ya’ll 👶🏾🤷🏾♀️,” Union captioned the video.
As soon as little Kaav sees her mommy and daddy getting a good hug in without her, she runs into the room yelling “Nooo!” not wanting to be excluded from the fun.
“I can’t hug Dad?!” Union laughs and asks her daughter, who responds by raising her arms in the air — signaling to be picked up. The “L.A.’s Finest” actress compromised, asking, “You want us to hug Dad together?” before the three of them join in on a family squeeze. Kaavia then went in for an encore group hug, and a smiling Union learned that “group hugs” and “no solo hugs” are the way her baby girl prefers to bond.
The Wades, who wed in 2014, have become couple goals for many who’ve been following their relationship journey, which Union admits hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, but that they try to keep “love and transparency” at the foundation of their partnership. “We just try to lead with love and transparency and people rock with us,” she said during an interview on the “Renaissance Man” podcast. “We still screw up and we just lead with that. You aren’t going to be able to tell me or him nothing about us that we haven’t already told you first.”
Fans were tickled over Kaavia’s speed and determination when it came to breaking up her parents’ moment so that she could join in.

Kaavia is Dwyane and Gabby’s only child together. Wade has three older children from previous relationships, Zaire, 19, Zaya, 13, and Xavier, 7.
