Ray J’s marriage to his estranged wife Princess Love has not been a walk in the park for the “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” star. Their union has been riven by lies, accusations of infidelity, and even several divorce filings, which have played out in the public eye.
Still, the two have come a long way and are in a much healthier position in their relationship than they were a year ago. The Raytroniks founder told E! News during a recent interview that they have since moved from California to Miami, Florida, and things are taking a turn for the better.
“I think we’re in a peaceful place,” the entrepreneur said of the current status of his marriage. “I think Miami brings a different vibe to who you are and what opportunities are out there for the family and just watching the kids learn new things and grow up. My little son is almost walking now, and Melody is just becoming so smart, so independent. Just seeing that, I think it brings us both together no matter what.”
The reality star continued, “We love each other, and we care for each other. We’re just respecting each other as human beings, as parents. We’re in a great place, and who knows what the future holds.”
During the pandemic, the R&B singer stepped away from his family to travel to Arizona to film VH1’s “Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition.” Although many of the cast members brought their loved ones, the “One Wish” singer came alone in hopes of clearing his mind and reflecting on his family after being encouraged by Miami rapper Trick Daddy.
“I was just at a crossroads in my life, trying to make some really, really, really strong decisions,” Ray J expressed. “For me, I went in eager to talk to people that might have been through things I’ve been going through and really just went in there very vulnerable and very open to suggestions.”
He added, “I never want to be without my kids. I felt like I needed some time to myself though. … After a couple of days, I really started to miss my family and miss the time with them, so it was hard for me, really, really hard.”
Ray J recently caught some heat from his model wife after it was alleged during the final episode of “Love and Hip Hop: Unlocked” that he has slept with several members of the franchise, including Tommie Lee and Moniece Slaughter.
Ray J and Princess started dating in 2013 and tied the knot in August of 2016. The pair share 2-year-old daughter Melody Love and a 1-year-old son, Epik Ray.
