‘I Quit’: Meg Thee Stallion Drops New ‘Cry Baby’ Challenge, and Fans are ‘Exhausted’

A bass-thumping beat, catchy lyrics, and an even more eye-catching visual is a combination artists use to obtain success with a song. However, in the days of social media, sprinkling in a dance challenge is almost a sure-fire way to make your single a trending topic, except when it’s done excessively.

That’s the dilemma Megan Thee Stallion fans are facing with her latest track. The self-proclaimed Houston Hottie recently released the music video for her song “Cry Baby,” featuring North Carolina rapper DaBaby. The song has already garnered over 9 million views on YouTube.

On Saturday, Feb. 6, the “Hot Girl” caption took to her Instagram page and uploaded a video of herself dancing while wearing a tight white crop top and some purple hip-hugging shorts.

She also featured several clips of her fans doing the dance as well. The challenge has already become a viral sensation, and the post garnered over 2 million likes despite many online users opposing the idea of yet another dance trend.

“That’s too much to remember 😂 I quit,” one user expressed. Another person commented, “Meg…I’m begging at this point…”

Folks went on to roast the moves, including a third person who joked, “😂😂😂😂 I feel like im watchin a defensive lineman dance in the endzone after he scoop fumble.” “They look like the sims characters dancing,” a fourth quipped.

One person pleaded with Meg, saying that the social media platform TikTok, where a majority of these dances were created, has done a disservice to her art. “I love you Megan but TikTok has ruined some of your best songs 😩,” they explained. “It’s sad songs are tailor made for repetitive tik tok dances but hey it’s the formula.”

Along with her new single, Meg recently debuted a new hairdo. The vibrant short purple style was in honor of her upcoming 26th birthday and her Aquarius zodiac sign. The photo she shared on her Instagram page garnered over 1.1 million likes as fans flooded the star with compliments in her comments section. “Aquarius queen,” one fan expressed. “One thing about meg she gonna tell yall she a aquarius,” another said.
